2. Can I receive continuing
medical education credits (CME) for attending an ASLME-sponsored conference?
ASLME offers CME credits for most conferences we sponsor. ASLME is accredited
by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide
continuing medical education for physicians. To find out if CME is available
or the number of credit hours for a specific conference, please review the
information in the Conferences section of the website.

3. Can I receive continuing legal
education credits (CLE) for attending an ASLME-sponsored conference?
ASLME is an accredited sponsor of continuing legal education programs according
to the regulations of the states of AR, CA, GA, IN, IA, MS, MO, NV, NM, NC,
PA, RI, SC, VA, WA, and WV. Under NYS CLE Board Approved jurisdiction process,
ASLME may provide CLE credit to NY attorneys. ASLME routinely applies to various
other states at attendees' requests. Attorneys desiring CLE credits must notify
ASLME upon registering for a conference and must indicate for which state they
are seeking credit. Please contact the ASLME Conference Director, conferences@aslme.org,
for information on credit hours for specific conferences.

As an educational membership association, ASLME does not provide legal referrals

Membership?
Membership in ASLME includes:

9. I have paid for an ASLME membership,
when will it begin?
ASLME maintains all memberships on a monthly basis. Your membership will begin
on the first of the next month after we receive your membership payment. You
will receive a new member packet including the most recent journal issue soon
after the first of the month.
10. How can I pay for membership,
conference registrations, and other orders?
ASLME accepts checks (made out to ASLME), MasterCard, Visa, and Discover Card.
If paying by credit card, you can pay through our secure server in the orders
section.
11. How do I obtain continuing medical
education (CME) credit hours or continuing legal education (CLE) credit hours
for attending an ASLME conference?
CME Credit Hours:
ASLME is an accredited provider of Continuing Medical Education credits.
To obtain CME hours, physicians must request them beforehand and must sign
in at the end of each day credit of the activity. A sign-in sheet is provided
by ASLME and located at the conference registration desk. ASLME then submits
each physician's name with the attendance list to the CME provider.
CLE Credit Hours:
ASLME is an accredited sponsor of mandatory continuing legal education programs
according to the regulations of the states AR, CA, GA, IN, KS, LA, MS, MO,
NV, NM, NC, OK, PA, RI, SC, VT, VA, and WV. ASLME routinely applies to various
other states. Programs are submitted to each of these states for approval of
credit hours. Attorneys from other states must notify ASLME in advance to obtain
CLE credit hours. Lawyers must sign in at the end of each day. A sign-in sheet
is provided by ASLME and located at the conference registration desk. For the
majority of the states, the State Bars require the CLE sponsor (ASLME) to submit
an attendance sheet with a fee. Certain states require the individual seeking
CLE credit to fill out a computer form and submit it individually to the State
Bar of the respective state. For individual questions, please contact the Continuing
Legal Education Department of your State Bar Association.
12. How do I find out which organizations
are offering courses for CME credit hours?
Physicians seeking CME credit hours can contact the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education at 312-464-2500.
13. Can conference attendees
find out the number of CME and CLE credit hours offered prior to the conference?
Generally, CME hours are listed in all printed conference materials prior
to the conference program. However, CLE credit hours are received on a continuous
basis. It is suggested that individuals contact the Director of Conferences
for the number of CLE credit hours for a specific state as it varies from state
to state.
14. If I cannot attend a conference
program, then is it possible to obtain the conference materials?
Yes, ASLME publishes a conference syllabus which contains speaker materials,
presentation slides, related articles, and cases. The conference syllabus is
available for a fee. To obtain a conference syllabus from a previous conference,
please contact the Director of Conferences, or you may order
here on our site.
