Director, Institute for the Medical Humanities The University of Texas Medical branch (UTMB) at Galveston, Texas, seeks an outstanding candidate to serve as Director of the Institute of the Medical Humanities. There is a strong tradition of nationally and internationally recognized scholarly inquiry, and the Institute serves as an institutional resource for policy discussions. The multidisciplinary faculty of the Institute teaches in the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, and in the graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. More information can be found at http://www.utmb.edu/imh/ The successful candidate will be recognized academically in a humanities discipline and have demonstrated experience with graduate humanities and biomedical education. The candidate will have the ability to recruit and mentor faculty and staff as well as a commitment to diversity, building and sustaining collegial relationships and developing programmatic initiatives in health policy and social ethics, while advancing the core medical humanities mission of the Institute.
