Chair of Bioethics, UC Davis School of Medicine The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for the position of the School of Medicine Alumni Association Endowed Chair of Bioethics, with an accompanying faculty position as an Associate Professor or Full Professor in a Ladder-Rank, In Residence, or Professor of Clinical Medicine series.. Qualified candidates will possess an M.D., Ph.D., or J.D. and have a distinguished record of scholarship in bioethics commensurate with the stature of the position (and, if applicable, a license to practice medicine in California). Applicants should: (1) have an accomplished background in bioethics; (2) show evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring; (3) demonstrate record of collaborative and interdisciplinary scholarly work; (4) possess outstanding leadership skills to build interdisciplinary programs across the School and University in bioethics; and 5) interest and skill in development activities on behalf of the program. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to work as an academic in a dynamic environment and a leadership style emphasizing collegiality, teamwork, communication and a service orientation. The successful applicant will assume responsibility for teaching, research and clinical duties dependent upon series, in addition to the responsibilities of the Bioethics Endowed Chair to provide leadership for bioethics programs, dynamic leadership in fund raising.
