Richard R. Abood, R.Ph., J.DRichard Abood received a B.S. in Pharmacy and juris doctorate degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He has worked extensively in both community and hospital pharmacy practice and is currently Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Pacific. Previously Professor Abood held the position of Professor of Pharmacy Administration at the University of Wyoming and also served as the Executive Director and legal counsel for the Wyoming Pharmaceutical Association. Professor Abood has given numerous presentations and authored several publications in the areas of pharmacy and health care law including a textbook entitled Pharmacy Practice and the Law, now in its 4th edition. In 2002, he was awarded the Eberhardt Teacher/Scholar Award, Pacificís highest honor for excellence in both teaching and scholarship. He is a past-president of the San Joaquin Pharmacists Association and a past president and board member of the American Society for Pharmacy Law. Professor Abood also regularly serves as a consultant on pharmacy law issues to law firms, state and federal governments, and pharmacy organizations.
