Stephen Ziegler, JD, PhD

Fort Wayne,IndianaStephen Ziegler, JD, is a PhD candidate at Washington State University, Department of Political Science (he anticipates defending his PhD on April 25th, 2003 -- entitled, “Prosecutors, Palliative Medicine, and Physician-Assisted Death: An Empirical Assessment of the Likelihood of Prosecution Stemming from Opioid and Non-opioid Administrations”). He has conducted research on a variety of issues at the intersection of law, medicine, politics, and criminal justice. Prior to his trial and appellate work in Michigan, Steve had also served as a police detective and as a member of an inter-agency task force with the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Department of Justice. He received his BS cum laude from Texas Christian University, his MA in political science from Washington State University, and his JD cum laude from the T. M. Cooley School of Law where he was a merit scholarship recipient for three years. This fall, Steve will begin his new career as an assistant professor at Indiana University, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, at the Indiana University-Purdue University campus in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
